About us

We are an Australian-Chilean couple passionate about providing quality accommodation in Malalcahuello with a low impact on the beautiful environment in which we find ourselves. Our aim is to leave a low carbon footprint and something that will encourage others to appreciate the natural environment in and around Malalcahuello.

We love nature, hiking, camping, cycle touring, skiing and snowboarding. We would love to share with you all that Malalcahuello has to offer. Our desire is to provide a unique experience for our visitors, including a very comfortable cabin that feels like home, only more relaxing.

We´re passionate about the natural environment, hence we don´t accept mascots in the cabins. We promote the movement of wildlife and the minimisation of light pollution of the night sky. What better experience than to be able to enjoy the milky way whilst relaxing in the spa. The reduction in artificial light has allowed owls to visit regularly and help massively with pest control.

Our mission is to offer sustainable holidays. We have built cabins with excellent insulation and energy efficient design. Solar energy contributes to our energy supply. Wastewater from the toilets, showers and kitchens is directed to a worm compost farm where it is converted to fertilizer for our orchard. In this way we are avoiding contaminating the underground aquifers.

The pristine drinking water comes from our own natural spring, good enough to bottle and sell, rich in magnesium and other minerals, it is delicious and refreshing.

We have a 120 hectare conservation property, protecting IUCN declared Endangered Araucaria araucana forest, accessible to our guests to enjoy.

The property has a commercial license to operate, sanitary authorisation and we are registered on the national tourism database of tourism providers (SERNATUR). We are also members of the local tourism association and also have membership of the oldest environmental non-government organisation in Chile, CODEFF  (Committee for the Defense of Flora and Fauna).
