Trans Andes Challenge MTB race

The Trans Andes Challenge 14-18 of January 2020 will be a challenge for mountain bike enthusiasts, professionals and amateurs. The route begins in a quaint rural town of Malalcahuello at a ski resort called Corralco and ends in a picturesque tourist town, Pucon on Lake Villarica. This is the northern limit of Patagonia.

The location has been well chosen in terms of scenery. Hotel Corralco, located in Malalcahuello National Reserve and other parts of the route have scenery that matches the best in the world, including the powerful and majestic volcanoes Lonquimay, Tolhuaca, Llaima, Sollipulli and Villarica and lush green beech forest and crazy looking Araucaria (Monkey Puzzle) trees.

The race involves some 300km in total, 9000m in altitude to climb and distances ranging from 45 km to 112km. There are various categories to choose from inclujding team entries, solo, and catergorisation by age and gender.It´s not necessary to be a professional to participate and they organisers offer a range of support packages from self supporting to fully supported (including tent, showers and food)

Some local businesses along the route are offering special deals, for example Chile Wild Cabins; which is offering discounts for Chileans and Australians and their families.
