¿What is spring and summer like in Malalcahuello?

Malalcahuello is surrounded by mountains and native Araucaria and beech forest. In spring the valley is a bright green colour with the flush of new growth after winter.  During the day the temperature is generally comfortable in the low to mid twenties (celcius or seventies farenheight).  Nightime temperatures in spring and summer fluctuate from cold to fresh. In summer, the daytime temperature reaches 30° celcius (86° F).

During September and October there is the possibilty to ski at Corralco ski centre. September to early December are good months to enjoy cross country skiing and walking with snow shoes.

Warm days are great for exploring the rivers and lakes in the region. Malalcahuello has the benefit of being less well known than some other touristy places such as Pucon so it´s possible to find secluded places to enjoy. Wet, cold days are ideal for visiting one of the thermal baths in the area.

Malalcahuello has a 12km cycleway, ideal for family cycling outings along the old railway line; it´s fairly flat and has great views of mountains and Volcano Lonquimay along the route.

In summary, Malalcahuello is a great place for a quiet holiday away from the crowds. Your cabin will be surrounded by beautiful views of nature.

Cabins in Malalcahuello

Close to the centre of Malalcahuello, the cabins available for rent are, generally, economical. Some of these cabins suffer from the heat as they are not built with much insulation. On a hot day, you can walk to the river to cool down.

Outside the urban zone, there are many cabins surrounded by trees and forest.  Some cabin complexes have a swimming pool or hot tubs.
